Nairobi Excursions
MSKEN 01 3 Hours Tour: Nairobi City
Founded at the turn of the 19th Century, Nairobi has
grown from a small railway outpost to a major
cosmopolitan center. It is the capital of Kenya and the
largest industrial and commercial city in East Africa
with a population close to 3 million. Nairobi has a
temperate climate all year round with warm days and cool
nights. A guided city tour includes a visit to the
famous Nairobi National Museum, the adjacent snake park,
and Uhuru park where one gets a splendid view of the
city of Nairobi.

02 3 Hours Tour: Giraffe Center & Karen
The Nairobi Giraffe center is located 15kms from the
city center. The center was founded in 1978 to save the
Rothschild Giraffe from extinction. From a safe
specially constructed platform, you may hand feed and
make friends with the majestic resident Giraffes. You
then proceed to Karen Blixen Museum, an immensely
popular tourist attraction, The museum’s beautiful
wood-panned rooms are filled with interesting
archaeological artifacts. You will wind up the tour with
a visit to the Utamaduni Craft Center. Here you will see
the work of local wood and stone artists and also get an
opportunity to purchase some souvenirs.
MSKEN 03 4Hours Tour Bomas of Kenya
The Bomas of Kenya is located 8 km from Nairobi City
center. ‘Boma” is a Kiswahili word for a homestead or
fort. The place is adorned with many homesteads
depicting Kenya’s cocktail of tribunal cultures. This is
a cultural tour that introduces you to the traditional
village life of Kenya’s major tribes. The highlight of
the visit is the afternoon performances by traditional
dancers and professional acrobats inside the center’s
magnificent arena.

04 Hours Nairobi National Park
The Nairobi National Park is only 7km from Nairobi City
center. The small park (113sq. km) contains all the
major animal species with the exception of the Elephant.
The sight of wildlife grazing majestically against the
backdrop of the city skyline is a pleasant experience.
Close to the Main Entrance of the Game park is the
Nairobi Animal Orphanage, founded in 1963 to provide a
home for injured and orphanage, founded young animals,
Here the animals are nursed to good health and then
released back to the wild.
From the verandah of the stylish Range’s Restaurant
adjacent to the orphanage, one can view the animals in
their natural setting. The verandah overlooks the
floodlit waterhole favored by many of the park wildlife.
The best time for game drives in the Park is early in
the morning or late in the afternoon.
MSKEN 05 The Carnivore Restaurant- Luncheon or
Dinner.
The
Carnivore Restaurant is located 6 km from Nairobi City
center. Among the many posh restaurants in the city, the
Carnivore stands in a class of its own. It is famous for
its succulent steaks and charcoal- grilled game meat
served on giant skewers. The tender- hearted are also
adequately catered for; there is an unlimited supply of
savory beef, pork, fish and chicken. A comprehensive
vegetarian menu is also available. The restaurant
guarantees to satisfy the most demanding of appetites.
After dinner you may choose to move to the Simba salon
and shake down the meat or dance the night away.
Depart from your city Hotel after an early breakfast.
Spend most of the morning on a game drive in Nairobi
National Park (see DBS 004). There after visit the
Giraffe Center and the Karen Blixen Museum. See (DBS
002) Lunch at either Ranger’s Restaurant or the Bomas of
Kenya Restaurant. Afternoon is spent at the Bomas of
Kenya, Return to hotel late afternoon.

Depart
from your city hotel after breakfast for a guided tour
of the City of Nairobi (see DBS 001) Depart from your

the Giraffe Center (see DBS 002). Lunch at either
Ranger’s Restaurant or the Bomas of Kenya Restaurant.
Afternoon games drive in Nairobi National park (see DBS
004). Return to the hotel late afternoon.
MSKEN 07 Full Day Tour: Lake
Nakuru National Park
Depart from Nairobi after an early breakfast. A brief
stop at Rift Valley view point. On arrival at Nakuru
National, (See DBS 002) embark on a game drive in the
park and bird watching at Lake Nakuru. Lunch at a lodge
in the Game Park. More game viewing en route to Nairobi.
Brief stop at Lake Naivasha for evening tea. Arrive in
Nairobi early evening.
Mombasa Excursions

01 Momabasa Island 1/2 Day
Take a guided tour to visit principal landmarks
including Akamba Wood Carving Village, a Hindu Temple, Fort Jesus Museum,
Old Town, Vegetable Market and Biashara Street for souvenir shopping.
MSKEM 02 Miji Kenda Tour (North Coast) 1/2 Day
Drive through cashew nut, sisal and coconut
plantations. View traditional dances in a typical Giriama Village and visit
Kaloleni Market.
MSKEM 03 Shimba Hills Reserve 1/2 Day
Situated 40 kms from Mombasa, drive past coconut,
cashew nut and other plantations to Shimba Hills to view, amongst other
animals, the rare Sable and Roan Antelope.
MSKEM 04 Malindi &Gedi Tour Full Day
Drive across the new Mtwapa and Kilifi bridges to
visit the Gedi ruins. Continue to Malindi and view marine life in a
glass-bottom boat at the Marine Park. After lunch in a local restaurant
visit the Snake Farm and the Falconry. En route to Mombasa stop at a local
village to watch Giriama dancers.

05 Dinner Cruise in Tamarind Dhow 3 hrs
Take an evening cruise around Tudor Creek aboard
the Tamarind Dhow, sipping cocktails in the tinted glow of a perfect African
sunset. Enjoy delicious seafood or succulent steaks and sway to the beat of
the band beneath a starlit sky.
MSKEM 06 Lamu Island Full Day
Fly north from Mombasa or Malindi along the
coastline landing on Manda Island to transfer to Lamu by boat. Explore the
narrow streets of Lamu and visit the museum and the 17th Century Fort. After
lunch at a hotel, enjoy Lamu's idyllic sandy beaches and shells before
transferring back by boat to Manda for the return flight. Overnight
extension at Lamu can be arranged on request.
MSKEM 07 Dhow Adventure Full Day
Sail by Arab dhow out to sea returning to the
mainland to watch demonstrations of local food preparations and visit the
Aquarium, Serpentarium and Makonde Wood Carvers. After a creek side barbeque
lunch enjoy fashion shows, fire eaters, Masaai and Limbo dancers before
sailing up Mtwapa creek.

08 Wasini & Kisite Dhow (South Coast) Full Day
Board a traditional dhow from the south coast and
sail to Kisite Marine National Park to snorkel in the coral gardens, cruise
in a glass- bottomed boat or sunbathe on the tropical islands. Return under
full sail to an isolated restaurant for a magnificent seafood lunch. Then
visit the coral gardens or laze in the restaurant gardens by the water edge.
MSKE 09 Tsavo East Full Day
Depart early to visit Kenya's largest game park
for lions and elephants. Visit Aruba dam, a watering hole popular with game.
Lunch at Voi Safari Lodge/Satao camp followed by another game drive and late
afternoon return to Mombasa.
